What We Do With Kitchen Floors
USA Epoxy Floors has provided kitchen flooring solutions in Ghent, NY for homeowners and commercial operators, including concrete profiling, resinous floor installation, coating removal, repairs, and restorations, for over 25 years. Our scope in Ghent spans mechanical grinding, structural repair, moisture remediation, removal of failed or outdated coatings, and installation of resin-based floors made specifically for food environments.
Kitchen floors encounter a continuous cycle of food and grease spills, impacts from dropped utensils, thermal shock, and regular rounds of chemical cleaning. These areas require floors that are durable, non-porous, easy to sanitize, and capable of withstanding food service codes. Integral cove base and properly detailed drain transitions are critical to stop bacteria build-up and enable efficient cleaning routines, especially in commercial kitchens.
Our experience with kitchen floor systems in Ghent means every installation starts by evaluating the concrete, preparing the substrate, and selecting a resinous system for the actual working conditions present. USA Epoxy Floors restores kitchens where coatings have failed, resurfaces aging concrete, and installs seamless, slip-resistant floors that can tolerate heavy, repeated cleaning cycles. Every floor assembly in Ghent is designed around food safety, operational needs, and lasting durability—supporting kitchens in both homes and businesses to meet hygiene and performance expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does USA Epoxy Floors handle Kitchen work near Ghent?
Yes. Kitchen coating is part of the regular range across Ghent and Columbia County. The company is based in Fishkill, family operated and veteran owned, and travels throughout the region for this work.
How long will a coated Kitchen hold up?
Properly prepared and correctly specified, it takes years of traffic, impact, and routine chemical contact. Service life comes down to preparation quality and whether the system matched the conditions. Upkeep is sweeping and periodic wet cleaning.
Can Kitchen work happen in cold months?
Often, yes. Polyaspartic and polyurea cure across a wider temperature range than standard epoxy, which opens up winter installs in many unheated Ghent spaces. Substrate temperature governs, so each space is checked before scheduling.
What if the Kitchen slab is cracked or pitted?
Cracks, pitting, and spalling are repaired as part of preparation. Structural issues that go beyond surface repair are flagged during the walkthrough rather than coated over — a coating does not fix a slab problem underneath it.
Is a Kitchen floor slippery once coated?
Slip resistance is specified, not left to chance. Broadcast flake and quartz systems add texture, and anti-slip additives can be worked into the topcoat where the area calls for it. The right level depends on how the Kitchen is used.
Who does the work?
George Tsinias, the owner, estimates and works every job personally from walkthrough to final inspection. USA Epoxy Floors has been operating since 2001. Call or text (845) 464-2539 to get on the schedule in Ghent.
"4 other contractors showed up, did their pitch, and then had to "go back to the office to prepare a quote" - 2 of them never responded and the other two estimates seemed high - George on the other hand showed up, gave me my options and provided a written quote right on the spot that was about 15% less than the other quotes and went on to do a superb job on my garage floor. I would recommend him highly!"

"We are so happy to have discovered George Tsinias. He is an old school artisan and gentleman who takes pride in his work, takes every issue seriously, answers every question, and is a meticulous workman. The garage floor he did for us is stunning. He is humble, fun, courteous, friendly, extremely knowledgeable about adjacent trades and competent in several of them. I am delighted to give him the highest recommendation and look forward to referring him to friends and to using him again."
